Victorian Christmas Dinners at the Bailey House

November 1, 2014 - December 31, 2014

ANNAPOLIS HERITAGE SOCIETY [AHS] Presents

A Victorian-era Christmas Feast

What could be a more delightful way to lead into the festive season in 2014? The Society invites you to a special fund raising dinner on the evenings of November 28 and 29, and December 5 and 6, 2014 and we are limited to 10 people per evening of a feast typical of that held by Queen Victoria at Windsor Castle during the Christmas season, 1899.

(Sorry December 6 is sold out already.)

Now, some 115 years later, this four course dinner will be held at the Bailey House, a home also touched by the royal family when Queen Victoria’s father, the Duke of Kent, danced at a ball in this historic home.

THE EVENT: Your presence is welcome after 6:30 pm for feasting to commence at 7:30 pm at the Bailey House [150 St George Street, Annapolis Royal].

THE ATTIRE: Appropriate costuming of the era and for the occasion is de rigueur [but not required].

THE EVENING: The four course repast will be interspersed with Parlour games appropriate of the era and a stroll to the O’Dell House Museum for the Victorian Christmas festivities.

YOUR CONTRIBUTION: To this special fund raising event is $150 [all inclusive] per person [with a $100 tax deductible receipt offered].

This is a special event that will cater to only 40 people over the two weekends. Two tickets for the Messha Bruggergosman concert at King’s Theatre on December 12 will be given away to someone who attends this event.

AHS is a strong supporter of the built, written, and oral heritage of Annapolis County. But support of heritage, preserving bits of our past, comes at a cost. Your support will allow us to continue our mandate of heritage preservation.

CONTACT: Call Ryan Scranton at the O’Dell House Museum at 902.532.7754 for tickets for one of these special evenings of November 28 or 29 or December 5. (December 6 is sold out already.)

Please respond by November 7, 2014.
