Annapolis Heritage Society is Bringing the Croscup Painted Parlor to the Sinclair Inn

The Sinclair Inn Museum has a new exhibit! The Croscup Painted Parlour travelling exhibit is now upstairs next to the Sinclair Inn’s own Painted Room. The exhibit offers Nova Scotians and visitors to Nova Scotia the opportunity to experience this beautiful room, considered an outstanding example of Pre-Confederation Canadian interior decorative painting. It was purchased and relocated, including painted walls, fireplace, floor, doors, windows and architectural trim, in 1976 by the National Gallery of Canada. This pop-up exhibit showcases high resolution, scaled reproductions of the room’s artwork, which decorated the walls of the Croscup family home in Karsdale in the 1840’s.
