Nathan Winchester will, 2 August 17–

Here is a transcription of the will of Nathan Winchester of Annapolis dated 2 August 17--, proved 31 May 1802:
In the name of God Amen I Nathan Winchester if Annapolis in the County of Annapolis and Province of Nova Scotia Yeoman being of sound and perfect mind memory and understanding blessed be God for the same but considering the uncertainty of this mortal Life do make and publish this my last will and testament in manner and form following, First I consign my soul into the hands (-------) merciful Creator humbly imploring pardon for my sins through the merits of Christ Jesus my Saviour- My body I commit to the Earth to be decently interred by my Executors herein after named, and as to the Wordly Estate wherewith it hath pleased God to bless me I dispose thereof as follows- I will and order that all my just debts and funeral Expences be paid as soon as convenient out of my personal Estate by my Executors- Item I give and bequeath to my Sons John, Nathan, Josiah, William and Spencer and to my daughterBulah the Wife of John Langley the sum of ten shillings each. I give and bequeath and devise to Bulah my beloved Wife the use, rents, issues and Profits of all the remainder of my personal Estate and all my real Estate during her natural Life; and (----) and immediately after the death of my said Wife Bulah I give bequeath and devise all my said real and personal Estate to my sonIsaac Winchester his Heirs and Assigns to have an to hold to him the said Isaac Winchester his Heirs and Assigns forever and lastly I do hereby nominate and appoint my trusty and respected friends the Honorable James DeLancey Esq. and Mr. Joseph Wheelock Executors of this my last will and testament hereby revoking all other and former Wills by me heretofor made and declaring this my last Will and testament- In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this second day of August in the year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred and (---------)
