Here is a transcription of the will of Job Young of Granville dated 10 July 1802, proved 11 June 1827:
Forasmuch as it is appointed for all Men once to Die & the time Very Uncertain I Job Young of Granvill in the County of Annapolis & Province of Nova Scotia Being of sound mind & Memory Thanks be Givin to the Lord for it but Calling to mind the Mortality of my Body do make this my last Will & Testament that is to Say Principally & first of all I recommend my Soul Into the hands of God that Gave it me & my body to the Earth to be Buryed in a Christian Like and Decent Manner at the Discrestion of my Executors hereinafter Named and as Touching Such Worldly Estate Wherewith It hath Pleased the Lord to Bless me with in this Life I Give Devise & Dispose of the Same in the following Manner It is my will & I Do order that in the first place all my just Debts & Funeral Expences be fully Paid It is my Will that all my Estate real & personal be Sold and Disposed of in the following manner Item I Give to my wellbeloved Daughter Hannah fifty pounds & the remainder of my Estate to be Equally Devided among my nine Sons William Samuel Joseph Timothy Job John Nathaniel Robert & Abraham and to their heirs & If any of my Sons Should Die without Lawfull Issue their share to be Equally Devided among the Surviving Brothers Lastly I Do Nominate Constitute & Appoint my Wellbeloved Sons William & Samuel Young & Samuel Moore of Wilmot in the County & province aforesaid Executors of this my Last Will & Testament I Do hereby Revoke & Disanull all & Every other & former Wills Testaments & Executors heretofore by me in any wise made Ratifying & Confirming this and no other to be my Last Will & Testament In Witness Whereof I have hereunto put my hand & Seal This Tenth Day of the Seventh month Commonly Called July In the Year of our Lord one Thousand Eight Hundred and Two.
