Township Books
The New England Planters brought with them to Nova Scotia their distinctive form of record-keeping, the Township Book. This very useful resource groups families together with their vital statistics, and includes the other prominent groups of settlers in addition to the Planters. AHS has typescript copies of the Township Books for Annapolis (1783–1856), Granville (1720–1881) and Wilmot (1749–1894). Clements, a Loyalist township, did not have a Township Book.
