School Outreach
In addition to offering tours of the O’Dell House Museum to area grades primary, 3 and 4 during Victorian Christmas, the Education and Outreach Committee offers programs to grades 3, 4 and 5 during Heritage Week in February.
These have included in the past an “antiques road show” where students are encouraged to bring in family heirlooms and mementos to discuss with experts, as well as “archaeological digs” in which students are invited to “dig” in boxes that are filled to simulate the accumulated layers of history.
An archaeological exercise is offered to grade 9 students as well.
