Daniel Pine will, 21 April 1834

In the Name of God Amen, I Daniel Pine of Clements in the County of Annapolis and Province of Nova Scotia (Yeoman) being in perfect health of body and of perfect mind and memory thanks be given unto God, calling in mind the mortality of my body, and knowing that it is appointed unto all men once to die, do make and ordain this my last Will and Testament, that is to say; Principally and first of all, I give and recommend my soul into the hands of Almighty God that gave it, and my body I recommend to the Earth to be buried in decent Christian burial at the discretion of my Executors nothing doubting but that at the general resurrection I shall receive the same again by the mighty power of God. And as touching such worldly estate wherewith it has pleased God to bless me in this life, I give, demise, and dispose of the same in the following manner and form. First, I give and bequeath to my daughter Tamar the sum of Five Shillings and no more in consideration of what I have already given her since her marriage. Secondly, I give and bequeath to my son Abel Lot No. ten in the Waldeck Line road. Thirdly, I give and bequeath to my son Daniel the sum of Fifteen Pounds. Fourthly, I give and bequeath to my daughter Hannah the sum of Ten Pounds. Fifthly, I give and bequeath to my son Samuel, the piece of land on the North side of the Waldeck line road, in the rear of Isaac Vroome’s land. Sixthly, I give and bequeath unto my daughter Mary, the sum of Twenty-five Pounds, together with the Household furniture, should she continue to live with me at the time of my decease, and a home there while she is unmarried. Seventhly, I give and bequeath to my daughter Ann the sum of Ten Pounds. Eighthly, I give and bequeath to my son Stephen Platt, the lot No. five on the Waldeck line road, on which I now live, together with all the farming Utensils, One Yoke of Oxen, Two Cows, and Six Sheep. Ninthly, I give and bequeath to my son James, the sum of Fifteen Pounds. Tenthly, I give and bequeath to my Grand-daughter Rebeckah Pine a Feather Bed, with two suits of bed clothes. Eleventhly, And in order to pay the above mentioned legacies I would have the lot No. Eleven in the Waldeck line road together with what livestock may be on the farm at the time of my decease, not disposed of by this will, sold by my Executors, and should that provide more than sufficient I would have the remainder equally divided among my daughters Hannah, Mary and Ann. Twelvethly and lastly, I do constitute my son Stephen Platt Pine, and my son in law William H. Harris to be the Executors of this my last Will and testament, and I do hereby utterly disallow, revoke, and disannul all and every other former testaments, wills, legacies, bequests and Executors by me in any wise before named, willed and bequeathed, ratifying and confirming this and no other to be my last will and testament. In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this twenty-first day of April in the Year of Our Lord One Thousand Eight hundred and Thirty-four.
